On October 22, the opening game of the 2023/24 season of the Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL) was held at the "Sarhadchi" Sports Center. The game between "Sarhadchi" and "Jalilabad" clubs was watched by the president of Azerbaijan Basketball Federation Emin Amrullayev and the head of the State Border Service, Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev and his deputy,head of the sports department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Elnur Mammadov, Lieutenant-General Abbas Khalilov, as well as members of the federation's advisory board, Vilayat Valiyev and Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli.
