The final seminar for referees before the new season was organized by the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation
On September 21-22, the next seminar for our local referees was held at the Zugulba educational sports base under the organization of the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation (ABF). The opening of the seminar led by the chairman of the judges' committee Alakbar Hasanov started after the instructions given by the sports director of ABF Turgay Zeytingöz regarding the new season. In the seminar attended by 18 local referees, the new pre-season preparations of our referees were tested with both theoretical and practical tests. In addition, in this FIBA-approved seminar, experts from the international basketball organization explained to local referees the application of the new rules in games with a video image. The main goal of the seminar is to explain theoretically and practically the new rules applied before the new season to referees and increase their knowledge and skills to referee in the Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL) and other local competitions

"Sabah" and "Neftçi" clubs start semi-final playoff series with victories
On April 26 and 27, the first games of the semi-final playoff series were held in the Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL). Basketball fans witnessed exciting battles during the opening matches of the playoff series at the Baku Sports Palace. In the first semi-final game, "Sabah", the winner of Group A in the regular season, defeated "Shaki" with a score of 86-73, taking a 1-0 lead in the series. In the first game of the "Neftçi" vs. "Absheron" semi-final series, "Neftçi" made a comeback and secured a 97-93 victory over their opponent in overtime, also taking a 1-0 lead in the series.
It should be noted that the return games of the semi-final playoff series will take place on April 29.

On April 24, the final semifinalist of the Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL) was determined. In the decisive game of the playoff series held at the Baku Sports Palace between "Nakhchivan" and "Absheron," the "Absheron" team claimed a 78-73 victory. With this win, they secured a 2-1 lead in the series and advanced to the semifinals.
It should be noted that the first semifinal games ("Sabah" vs. "Shaki" and "Neftchi" vs. "Absheron") will take place on April 26 and 27.

At the "Sarhadchi" Sports Center, the local team "Sarhadchi" hosted "Sabah" in the second game of their playoff series. Starting the game actively, "Sabah" secured a 104-77 victory, bringing the series score to 2-0 and advancing to the semifinals. At the Baku Sports Palace, the return game between the capital club "Neftchi" and "Ordu" ended with a comfortable 88-54 win for "Neftchi". They won the series 2-0 and booked their place in the semifinals. At the Sheki Olympic Sports Complex, the local "Sheki" basketball team defeated "Ganja" 85-83 in the decisive game of their playoff series, becoming the next team to reach the semifinals. In the return game of the playoff series, "Absheron" defeated "Nakhchivan" 85-79 and tied the series overall.
