"NTD" basketball players are the single leader of the championship
On January 7, two more games took place in the "Sarhadchi" Sports Center within the framework of the 12th round of the Azerbaijan Basketball League. The first match of the day was held between the leaders of the championship "Sabah BK" and "NTD BK". "NTD" basketball players, who made a comeback at the end of the game, won a 79-75 victory over their opponent and became the single leader of the championship. The most productive basketball players: "Sabah BK" (Anthony Patti - 17 points, 11 rebounds), "NTD BK" (Londell King - 30 points, 16 rebounds). In the last game of the day, "Neftchi IK" and "Ganja BK" basketball players faced each other. At the end of the game, which continued under equal conditions, the capital club won 81-78 over its opponent. The most productive basketball players: "Neftchi IK" (David Lomidze - 24 points, 6 rebounds), "Ganja BK" (Celon Perry - 26 points, 6 rebounds)
It should be noted that the closing game of the tour will be held on January 8 at 15:00 at the Astara Olympic Sports Complex between the teams "Zirve Astara BK" and "Olympic Shaki BK".

The Azerbaijan national team has kicked off its EuroBasket 2029 pre-qualifying campaign
Our men’s national basketball team has played two games in the pre-qualifying stage of the EuroBasket 2029, which will be held in 2029. Our first match in Group A took place away against North Macedonia — considered the strongest team in the group. The home side won the game with a score of 87–49. Our second group match was against Luxembourg. Although our team came close to a comeback in the final period, the game ended 95–90 in favor of the opponent.
It should be noted that the next group matches for the Azerbaijan national team will take place on February 27, 2026, away against Ireland, and on March 2, at home, against North Macedonia.
