The games of the first round of the Azerbaijan Basketball League have ended

 Six members of the Azerbaijan women's national basketball team have received official offers from various educational institutions and basketball academies in the United States. Starting this coming season, they will continue both their education and sports careers in the US. ​These transitions will allow our national team members to gain valuable experience in the world's leading basketball system, develop their individual skills, and reach new heights on the international stage. The experience they gain overseas is expected to make a significant contribution to the future development of Azerbaijani basketball. ​

 On August 9, our U-18 girls' national team faced Norway in the European Championship Division B game held in Tulcea, Romania, for 17-20th places. Our national team defeated its opponent in its last game of the championship with a score of 77:48. The most valuable basketball player (MVP) of the match was our national team member Polina Shchukina with 25 points and 22 rebounds. This victory was our national team's third consecutive victory. Our girls had previously defeated the North Macedonian team 75:73 and the Estonian team 74:71.

 It should be noted that our U-18 women's national team, which concluded its performance in the European Championship Division B, finished the championship in 17th place among 20 teams

 On August 3, our U-18 men's national team played its last match in the European Championship Division B held in the cities of Rijeka and Opatija, Croatia. Our national team lost to Iceland in the match for 15th-16th places with a score of 73:91 and finished in 16th place among 22 teams in the European Championship Division B.
