The last game in the international career of our experienced referee Alakbar Hasanov !
One of the most prominent figures of Azerbaijani basketball, international referee Alakbar Hasanov, is set to officiate his final game under the FIBA banner. The experienced referee will take charge of the bronze medal match between Slovenia and Italy at the FIBA U16 European Championship in Georgia. This game will be Hasanov’s last appearance as a head referee on the international stage and will go down in history as the symbolic conclusion of his long and successful international career. Since 2010, Alakbar Hasanov has been entrusted with officiating FIBA competitions. Over the course of 15 years, he has represented Azerbaijani basketball with distinction at European Championships in different age categories, international tournaments, and club competitions. Among these are the Women’s EuroLeague Final, final matches of various divisions of European Championships, as well as the Olympic Festival final. Although retiring from international refereeing, Hasanov will continue to remain actively involved in basketball. He will go on to officiate games in the Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL) and will also support the development of young referees. Furthermore, in upcoming FIBA competitions, he will serve as an instructor, sharing his valuable knowledge and experience with the new generation of officials. Hasanov’s years of service have played a key role in the growth and progress of Azerbaijani basketball refereeing. His name will always be remembered as a trusted representative of Azerbaijani officiating on the international stage.

Our women's national team is one of the four strongest teams in the world !
On June 7, Azerbaijan's women's 3x3 basketball national team faced the United States in the semifinals of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup held in Warsaw, Poland. Towards the end of the game, Brianna Fraser, regarded as one of the leaders of the national team, suffered an injury and was forced to leave the court. Azerbaijan eventually lost 18–19 after overtime. In the bronze medal game, our team faced the Netherlands. With Brianna Fraser unavailable, Azerbaijan was forced to continue the game with only three players. The team ultimately suffered a 14–21 defeat and finished the World Cup in fourth place in its debut appearance at the tournament.

On June 6, Azerbaijan's women's 3x3 basketball national team faced Germany in the quarterfinals of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. Having defeated Lithuania 14–12 in a play-in game that went into overtime on June 5, our team found themselves trailing early against Germany. However, thanks to a dominant performance by Brianna Fraser, Azerbaijan staged a comeback and secured an 18–16 victory, earning a place in the semifinals. Azerbaijan will face the United States in the semifinals. The game is scheduled to tip off at 19:30 Baku time.
It should be noted that the FIBA 3x3 World Cup will conclude on June 7.

Our women's 3x3 basketball national team concluded the group stage games at the World Championship held in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, on June 1-3. The following results were recorded in the group games of our national team.

Our national team, which finished second in Group A, qualified for the play-in stage. According to the regulations, our opponent in the play-in stage will be the third in Group D. It should be noted that the play-in match for our national team to qualify for the 1/4 final stage will take place on June 5.
