NBA hope of Azerbaijani basketball
14 years old and 2.06 m tall. The owner of these indicators is an Azerbaijani. We are talking about Huseyn Gaflanov, a member of our youth national team. Thus, the young talent who left for Vilnius, Lithuania with the support of the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation, has already been accepted to the NBA basketball school located in that city due to his individual basketball skills. Until the summer of 2024, Huseyin will participate in trainings in accordance with the modern requirements of the NBA by foreign experts at this school and will try to qualify for NBA selections in the future by further improving his basketball knowledge. It should be noted that the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation always continues its attention and concern for Huseyn Gaflanov to participate in the NBA and to represent our country at the highest level among national teams.

Matches of the 13th round of the Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL) were played on January 16–18. The following results were recorded in the games held in Groups “A” and “B”.
Group A

On the first matchday, Neftchi defeated Lankaran 86–54, while Guba secured a 105–98 away victory over Nakhchivan. On the second matchday, Sheki, playing in front of their home fans, beat Serhedchi 92–75. Meanwhile, Sumgait claimed a sensational away win, defeating NTD 116–94.
It should be noted that the quarterfinal matches — Sabah vs Guba, Absheron Lions vs Sheki, Ganja vs Neftchi and Ordu vs Sumgait — will be held at the Baku Sports Palace from February 18 to 22.
