A bridge of brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Turkey is being built on the basketball court !
Today, the President of the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation (ABF), Emin Amrullayev, along with federation officials, held an official meeting with Mirkan Aydın, President of one of Turkey’s prominent women's basketball clubs, Nesibe Aydın, and representatives of the club. The main topic of discussion was the development of women's basketball between the two countries, including potential joint projects and mutual exchange of experience. Both sides evaluated opportunities for organizing joint tournaments and training programs for female basketball players across various age categories in the future. During the meeting, ABF President Emin Amrullayev emphasized the benefits of drawing from Turkey's experience in the region and praised the success of Nesibe Aydın Club in women’s basketball. In response, Mirkan Aydın acknowledged the progress made in Azerbaijani basketball in recent years and expressed confidence in the positive outcomes of future cooperation.

The second quarter of the ABL has started: the leaders of groups "A" and "B" have completed the 6th round without a loss
On november 6–9, the second round of the Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL) began with the matches of the 6th round. The following results were recorded in the matches held in Groups "A" and "B":
Group A
"Ganja" - NTD (90:78)
"Neftchi" - "Sabah" (96:103)
"Sheki" - "Absheron Lions" (79:104)
Group B
"Lankaran" - "Sumgait" (94:98)
"Guba" - "Sarhadchi" (82:86)
"Nakchivan" - "Ordu" (76:100)
The clubs "Sabah" and "Ordu", which continue their campaign without any losses in the 6th round as well, have achieved maximum results and currently lead Group "A" and Group "B", respectively.

"Absheron Lions" – "Sabah" (92:107)
Group B
"Lankaran" – "Ordu" (76:91)
"Sumgait" – "Sarhadchi" (84:80)

After the first quarter, the clubs "Sabah" and "Ordu" lead Groups A and B, respectively, having achieved perfect records.

FIBA Europe Cup Azerbaijani Derby: “Neftçi” Defeats “Absheron Lions”
On October 29, an Azerbaijani derby took place in Group I of the FIBA Europe Cup. The match between “Absheron Lions” and “Neftchi” was held at the Baku Sports Palace and featured an intense battle on the court. At the end of the game, “Neftçi” claimed a convincing 104–86 victory over their opponents. With this result, “Neftçi” secured their second win in the group stage and moved up to second place in the standings. “Abşeron Lions,” meanwhile, remain at the bottom of the group table. It should be noted that the next encounter between the two Azerbaijani representatives is scheduled for November 19.
