Azerbaijan Basketball Cup has started
On March 21, the group games of the Azerbaijan Cup for the 2022/23 season took place at Sarhadchi Sports Center. On the first day of the game, four matches were played in two groups. The opening game was played between "Sabah" and "Ganja" teams, which are in group A. "Ganja" beat its opponent with a score of 97-59. In the first semi-final game, "Sabah", the winner of Group A in the regular season, defeated "Shaki" with a score of 86-73, taking a 1-0 lead in the series. In the first game of the "Neftçi" vs. "Absheron" semi-final series, "Neftçi" made a comeback and secured a 97-93 victory over their opponent in overtime, also taking a 1-0 lead in the series.

At the Sheki Olympic Sports Complex, the local "Sheki" basketball team defeated "Ganja" 85-83 in the decisive game of their playoff series, becoming the next team to reach the semifinals. In the return game of the playoff series, "Absheron" defeated "Nakhchivan" 85-79 and tied the series overall.
