The opponents of our boys' and girls' youth national teams in the group stage of the European Championship have been announced.

 From July 25 to August 3, in the city of Pitești, Romania, the U-18 national boys' team will compete in the "B" Division of the European Championship. Our team, placed in Group "B," will face Romania, Georgia, Denmark, Ukraine, and Portugal. From July 4 to 13, the U-18 girls' national team will participate in the "B" Division of the European Championship in the cities of Alytus and Vilnius, Lithuania, competing in Group "B" against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania, Kosovo, Ukraine, and Iceland.


From July 5 to 13, the U-16 national boys' team will compete in the "C" Division of the European Championship in Tirana, Albania. Our team, in Group "B," will face Luxembourg, Andorra, San Marino, and Gibraltar. From August 20 to 29, the U-16 girls' national team will compete in the "B" Division of the European Championship in Istanbul, Turkey, facing Slovakia, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg in Group "B."

Round 9 of the Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL) concludes: NTD claim first regular-season win

 Games of round 9 of the Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL) were held from december 11 to 14. The following results were recorded in the games played in Groups A and B:


Group A

NTD vs. Sheki – 93:79

Absheron Lions vs. Neftchi – 88:72


Group B

Lankaran vs. Guba – 87:95

Nakhchivan vs. Serhedchi – 90:74

Sumgait vs. Ordu – 86:106

 

After nine rounds, "Sabah" and "Ordu" lead Groups A and B respectively with a perfect record. It should be noted that the round 9 match between "Sabah and "Ganja" has been postponed due to Sabah’s game against Alba Berlin in the Basketball Champions League, which will take place in Germany on december 16.

The Azerbaijan national team has kicked off its EuroBasket 2029 pre-qualifying campaign

 Our men’s national basketball team has played two games in the pre-qualifying stage of the EuroBasket 2029, which will be held in 2029. Our first match in Group A took place away against North Macedonia — considered the strongest team in the group. The home side won the game with a score of 87–49. Our second group match was against Luxembourg. Although our team came close to a comeback in the final period, the game ended 95–90 in favor of the opponent.

 It should be noted that the next group matches for the Azerbaijan national team will take place on February 27, 2026, away against Ireland, and on March 2, at home, against North Macedonia.
