Basketball hegemons such as the USA, China and Spain bowed to the champion "Neftchi"

  The Debrecen round of the 3x3 Women's Basketball World Series organized in Hungary on August 27-28 has ended. "Neftchi" first won the group games against the Ukrainian national team 22-6, and the U-24 USA team with a score of 21-9. In the 1/4 finals, "Neftchi" won against the Hungarian club "Gyor" 20-18, and in the semi-finals against the Hungarian national team with a score of 22-14, and qualified for the finals. Our representative "Neftchi" met the German club "Düsseldorf Zoos" in the final game. "Neftchi" started the game better, won the Debretsen stage without losing any match, winning 21-10 in the end. Bryana Fraser, a member of the "Neftchi" club, was selected as the most valuable player (MVP) of the Debrecen stage. With this championship, "Neftchi" won the stage for the 4th time in the World Women's Series

  On August 19, the Melilla stage of the Women's World Series on 3x3 basketball, organized in Spain, was completed. In the final game of the Melilla stage, our representative "Neftchi" faced the host team of Spain. At the end of the tense and interesting game, "Neftchi" won the opponent with a score of 13-12 and became the champion of the Melilla stage. Bryana Fraser, a member of "Neftchi", won the award of the most valuable player (MVP) of the Melilla stage. It should be noted that the next matches of our women's national team and "Neftchi" in the World Women's Series 3x3 will take place in our native Baku on August 22

  The opponents that our men's national basketball team will face in the preliminary qualification stage games of the 2027 World Championship to be held in Qatar have been determined. According to the results of the draw held in Munich, Germany, our national team will compete with Switzerland, Kosovo and Ireland in Group A. Group games will be played in a round-robin format. Together with the three group winners, the best group runner-up will advance to the second round of the preliminary qualifying round of the World Cup, which will take place in the summer of 2025. It should be noted that the first group games of the qualification stage will be held on February 19-27, 2024
