The teams that will participate in the Azerbaijan basketball championship have been determined
The games of the 28th Azerbaijan basketball championship, which is expected to start in the second decade of October, will take place at the "Sarhadchi" Sports Olympic Center. A total of 8 teams, including 3 regional teams, will compete for the championship in the championship to be held under the name of Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL). "AAAF Khirdalan BK", "Ganja BK", "NTD BK", "Neftchi BK", "Olympic Sheki BK", "Sarhadchi BK", "Sabah Baku BK", "Zirve Astara BK". Compared to the last championship, according to the new regulations, the teams will face each other in 4 rounds with a circular system. The teams that occupy the first four places in the regular season of the championship will qualify for the play-off stage. The team with the fastest 2 wins in the semi-finals, and the fastest 3 wins in the finals, will be considered the winner. It should be noted that a mini-tournament aimed at preparing for the main championship will be held on October 1. The games will be held at the "Sarhadchi" Sports Olympic Center.

Winners determined in the U-12, U-14 and U-16 girls basketball leagues
On June 10, the finals and third-place matches of the U-12, U-14 and U-16 girls basketball leagues were held at the sports hall of the Azerbaijan Technical University. In the U-12 league final, the IOEUGIM-8 team defeated the “AzStars” club with a score of 48–31 to become the champions. The “Birlik” club secured third place in the league by defeating “Ganja” with a score of 29–18. In the U-14 league final, the AAAF club claimed the championship by defeating “Ganja” 59–22. IOEUGIM-8 earned third place by beating “Jalilabad” with a score of 55–26. In the U-16 league final, the “AzStars” club secured the championship title by defeating IOEUGIM-8 with a dominant 74–32 win. The third-place match saw “Ganja” defeat the AAAF team 45–41 to claim the bronze medal. Following the decisive matches, an award ceremony was held. Trophies and medals were presented by the head coach of the national women's team Evren Alkaya, the head coach of the U-16 girls national team Ferhat Akcan and the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Referees Committee Alakbar Hasanov.

Our women's 3x3 basketball team will be at the Europe Cup 2025 !
Our women's national 3x3 basketball team emerged as the winner of the qualification stage of the 2025 Europe Cup, held on June 7–8 in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the qualification stage was our national team member Brianna Fraser. With this championship, our girls have earned the right to participate in the final stage of the 2025 Europe Cup. It should be noted that the final stage of the 2025 Europe Cup will take place from September 5 to 7 in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.

The champion of the U-12 basketball league is the "Sabah" U-12 team
On May 28, the final and third-place matches of the U-12 Basketball League for boys under the age of 12 took place. In the third-place match held at the Baku Sports Palace, the NTD U-12 and "Nakhchivan" U-12 teams faced off. The NTD U-12 team defeated their opponent with a score of 47-40, securing the title of the third-strongest team in the league. In the final match, the representative of the city of youth, "Sumgait" U-12, played against the "Sabah" U-12 team. Taking control of the game from the beginning, the "Sabah" U-12 team ultimately triumphed over their opponent with a score of 73-56, becoming the champions of the U-12 Basketball League. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the final was Emil Murshudzade from the "Sabah" U-12 team. The championship trophy and medals were presented to the winners by the head coach of the Azerbaijan National Team, Tahir Bakhshıyev, and his assistant, Anar Sarıyev.
