The international basketball tournament dedicated to the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev has ended

  On May 15, the final game of the international basketball tournament dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the "Sarhadchi" Sports Center, jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation. "LSU" students started fast in the final game where "LSU" (Russia) and "AzTU" (Azerbaijan) teams faced each other and won the main prize of the international tournament by winning 82-58. "STT" (Turkmenistan) basketball players won bronze prizes of the international basketball tournament, winning 83-64 against the students of "ASAPES" (Azerbaijan) in the game for the 3rd place. It should be noted that the winner of the international basketball tournament "LSU" team was awarded the cup by the Deputy Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Firudin Gurbanov, the head of department of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Aliyev awarded the silver medals to the "AzTU" team, and the bronze medals were awarded to the students of "STT" by the executive of the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation. director Farrukh Mahmudov presented. The most valuable player of the tournament ("LSU" - Kiril Lenkin) (MVP) award was presented by the vice-rector of Azerbaijan Technical University Rashad Aliyev.

Azerbaijan eventually lost 18–19 after overtime. In the bronze medal game, our team faced the Netherlands. Having defeated Lithuania 14–12 in a play-in game that went into overtime on June 5, our team found themselves trailing early against Germany. However, thanks to a dominant performance by Brianna Fraser, Azerbaijan staged a comeback and secured an 18–16 victory, earning a place in the semifinals. Azerbaijan will face the United States in the semifinals. The game is scheduled to tip off at 19:30 Baku time.

 It should be noted that the FIBA 3x3 World Cup will conclude on June 7.
