A newly installed basketball board was put into use in the penitentiary
On December 30, the president of the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation, Emin Amrullayev, with the participation of the responsible employees of the federation and the members of the national team, put into use a new basketball board designed for prisoners in the penal institution No. 9. The president of the federation, Emin Amrullayev, who opened the event with his opening speech, congratulated the people serving the sentence on the upcoming World Azerbaijani Solidarity Day and the New Year holiday and wished them to celebrate these holidays together with their families as soon as possible. Later, the members of our national team presented uniforms of the national team to the prisoners.
It should be noted that the basketball board created by the organization of the federation is designed for convicts to use their leisure time more efficiently.

On February 27, our men's national team won a 76:75 away victory over the Irish team in the group match of the preliminary round of the 2029 European Basketball Championship (EuroBasket 2029). This victory was our team's first victory in the group.

Ganja basketball club won the Azerbaijan Cup for the second time in its history (2026)
On February 22, the final match of the Azerbaijan Cup (2026) in basketball between "Ganja" and "Sabah" took place at the Baku Sports Palace.
