The draw ceremony for the Azerbaijan Basketball Cup (2026) took place
On December 24, the draw ceremony for the 2026 Azerbaijan Basketball Cup was held at the Baku Sports Palace. The event was attended by federation officials, club representatives, members of the media, coaches, basketball players, and referees. The draw ceremony was officially opened by the press secretary of the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation (ABF), Sanan Aliyev, who welcomed the guests. This was followed by the ABF Secretary General Vugar Aliyev and Marketing Manager Famil Isgandaroglu who were invited to the stage to conduct the draw. According to the draw results, the Round of 16 matchups will be as follows: “Nakhchivan” vs. “Guba,” NTD vs. “Sumgayit,” “Neftchi” vs. “Lankaran,” and “Sheki” vs. “Sarhadchi.” The Round of 16 games will take place on January 13–14, 2026, with the teams listed first hosting the matches. In the quarterfinals, scheduled for February 18–22, the winner of the “Nakhchivan” – “Guba” pairing will face “Sabah,” the winner of NTD – “Sumgait” will play against “Ordu,” the winner of “Neftchi” – “Lankaran” will meet “Ganja,” and the winner of “Sheki” – “Sarhadchi” will compete against “Absheron Lions.” According to the Cup regulations, each team must have two local players on the court, and all matches will be decided in a single-game format.
It should be noted that the quarterfinal, semifinal, and final matches will all be held at the Baku Sports Palace.

On the first matchday, Neftchi defeated Lankaran 86–54, while Guba secured a 105–98 away victory over Nakhchivan. On the second matchday, Sheki, playing in front of their home fans, beat Serhedchi 92–75. Meanwhile, Sumgait claimed a sensational away win, defeating NTD 116–94.
It should be noted that the quarterfinal matches — Sabah vs Guba, Absheron Lions vs Sheki, Ganja vs Neftchi and Ordu vs Sumgait — will be held at the Baku Sports Palace from February 18 to 22.
